What Heaven Is Saying Today by Pastor James Durham

What Heaven is Saying Today

The presence of the Lord was strong in our worship room this morning and I spent time soaking in all He was pouring out. As I went face down before Him, I prayed the James 4:7 prayer (see below), prayed for Jerusalem and asked the Holy Spirit to tell me what the Father is saying and doing today so that we can follow Him. Suddenly, I was lifted high in the air in a vision of the Lord. I was looking down on a beautiful mountain range. Low clouds were hanging quietly in front of the hills and everything seemed to be in perfect peace. I could feel the Shalom Glory of the Lord covering me this morning.

Then I saw a strange word written in the sky. The letters seemed to be jumbled and overlapping. I prayed for wisdom to understand the message. Then I saw that it was actually two words coming as one gift from the Lord today. The words were hope and joy. The Holy Spirit led me to Psalm 121:1-4, “I will lift up my eyes to the hills—from whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.”

I became aware that storm clouds were rumbling and tumbling behind me, but I kept my eyes on the hills “from whence comes my help?” You may have some powerful storms around you today. Perhaps the storms of illness, pain, loss, or grief are rolling and tumbling around you. Don’t focus on the storms. Look to the Lord. He is the source of you help. Perhaps the storms of doubt or despair are moving close to you today. Look away from the storms and focus on the Lord today. No help is coming to you from the storms. Your help comes from the Lord today and every day.

The good news is that “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8).” He was your help yesterday and He will be your help today and tomorrow. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus (Hebrews 12:2). I thought about Malachi 4:2, “But to you who fear My name the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings;” I believe that the Lord is continuing to bring healing to those who seek His face today. Then the Spirit gave me assurance by leading me back to Psalm 121:7-8, “The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore.

All of this came as an answer to my opening prayer to hear what the Lord is saying and to know what He is doing today. I am looking to the Lord and putting my faith in Him. He is the one who can calm all your storms. Listen to Him speaking to the storms around you today as He decrees: “Shalom! Be still!” He is your deliverer from the storms. He is your healer. He is your source of love, grace, and peace now and forever. Turn to Jesus. He will never leave you. He is always the same. There is no shadow of His turning away from you! Amen and Amen!!!
